The end of the world is only the beginning. Check out these useful tips for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, out now on Nintendo Switch 2, and prepare for the many battles that lie ahead!
Don’t hesitate to jump between paths
Although you can only guide one of the four heroes – Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda – at a time, it’s possible to play multiple hero stories in parallel. At any time between matches, visit the Pale Raven’s perch in the city and swap to a different storyline, advancing towards the final battle as you see fit.
Use the right tools for the job
It’s important to take a multi-talented array of units onto the battlefield. Your enemy’s defence can be easily overcome by using units that take advantage of their weaknesses. For instance, magical attacks are especially effective against heavily-armoured targets, arrows work wonders on flying foes, and spears can quickly fell cavalry units.
Additionally, always factor counter-attacks into your strategy. Attacking an enemy from within their attack range can lead to them retaliating, so always aim to strike from the right position or use a unit that has high defence or evasion stat.
Bolster your forces
To improve your chances of success in the tournament, look out for powerful warriors around Dagsion that you can recruit to your cause. Some may accept your offer immediately, while others will need more convincing – a gift or invite to dine together may be enough to sway them. Who and how many you choose to recruit is entirely up to you.
Increase your renown
As your renown grows, new facilities will be made available around Dagsion. Renown increases as you win matches in the Heroic Games, but you can also improve your social standing by completing optional quests from townsfolk. Invest your time in the people of Dagsion, and you’ll be handsomely rewarded.
Travel far and wide
Between matches, you can also venture outside the city walls and explore the wider continent of Dagda, where new opportunities await. Visit towns to purchase items not available in Dagsion, or talk to the locals for useful intel that might lead to surprising discoveries.
Dungeons can also yield valuable resources and weapons, but are also filled with danger. Time passes every time you move across the map though, so plan your expedition with care before your next match takes place.
Save time using auto-activities
Looking for another way to spend your free time? At the inn, you can command your units to perform auto-activities during the time between matches (measured in turns), allowing you to efficiently gain money, experience, and other valuable resources. It’s useful when you want to make progress towards your next match quickly, or if you’re short of time to play.
The advent of the underworld
All paths lead to your final showdown with Balor and his undead forces. If you’re finding this challenge too difficult though, there’s still hope: simply travel back in time and guide another hero to the present. As well as getting to see the world from another point of view, doing this will lead even more allies to join your cause, giving you a greater army to fight back the underworld with.
With this guidance in hand, it’s time to walk your own path and save the world. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is available now – only on Nintendo Switch 2.
