Monster Hunter Wilds gets December release date on Switch 2

The latest entry in the Monster Hunter series is finally coming to Switch 2 this December, after having been previously announced for the platform out of the blue back in June.

Monster Hunter Wilds was previously released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC last year, where it was criticised by players for its sometimes iffy performance. That performance was ironed out significantly in the updates that followed – likely thanks in part to the porting process to more modest hardware – and now it’s finally on its way and looking pretty decent.

The Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will feature all of the prior Title Updates that other platforms have seen in the last year and change, as well as full cross-platform online multiplayer. It also has local wireless multiplayer hunts, which is unique to the Switch 2 version of the game, and the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion will be available on Switch 2 at the same time as other platforms.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on the Switch 2 on December 4, 2027.
